The word pagan comes from the Latin word paganus, which means “country dweller”.

Memberland Obligations

1. Only acquire what is required to continue living a normal life.
2. Defend the integrity of the individuals and groups within the society.
3. Only use reasonable force when needed and only if force is being used against you.
4. Every member has the right to allow him or herself ‘not’ to be filmed or photographed.
5. All affiliations with ‘none subscribed’ societies should be abandoned.
6. Pagan festivals and rituals should be respected.
7. Your new date of birth begins with your memberland inclusion. (Members choice)
8. No further consent to be given to any party whom is not affiliated with the society.
9. Respect the freedom of religion, choice and life.
10. Members must endeavour to educate themselves and teach the truth of what is learned.
11. Care for and treat other members as though they were family.
12. Conscientious Society elders are to be party to resolving disputes and adjudicate matters.
13. Treat all others as you expect to be treated.
14. Registration to other outside none affiliated parties is forbidden.
15. It is an obligation to aid, assist and defend fellow members.
16. Members must respect the common law constitution of the land as laid down by our forefathers.
17. Respect all forms of life physically / emotionally / spiritually, and acknowledge any loss of life caused through the need to eat.
18. Never to cause any loss, harm or injury to anybody or property.
19. Never to discuss society stratagem with non-members.
20. Know thy-self and do nothing to excess.

The Spiritual Sentient Society of Pagan Freeman is a religion. We seek answers to ultimate questions such as what is the meaning of life, what happens after death, is there a God, what is our basic nature, and how do we interact with the greater universe. We seek these answers in the context of a religious and social community. Like other religions, we have clergy who perform religious functions such as marriages and funerals, we also observe a sacred year and have religious holidays and other celebrations. Pagan holidays often fall on dates that mark the change of seasons or are seasonally important.

The Spiritual Sentient Society of Pagan Freeman is a new religion, even though it may borrow concepts and practises from any spirituality, including those now fading or extinct. The classification as a new religion as set down by social scientists is that we exhibit all six features of a new religious movement, which are:
(1) a pronounced religious individualism,
(2) an emphasis on experience instead of belief and doctrine,
(3) a practical perspective on matters of authority and practice,
(4) an acceptance and tolerance of other religions and world views in general,
(5) a holistic world view, and
(6) an open, flexible organisational framework.

The Spiritual Sentient Society of Pagan Freeman has no central hierarchy or dogma. It is a religion that as a whole has no central hierarchy or dogma, though individual traditions may adopt an internal governing structure and specific beliefs. We enjoy spiritual diversity and would not think it appropriate for us all to believe the same things, practise in the same ways, or be organised under the same structure.

The Spiritual Sentient Society of Pagan Freeman stresses personal responsibility and puts the burden of developing spiritual practices, beliefs, and ethics on to the individual. Even those traditions that offer established beliefs and methods encourage their members to test ideas so that members build the mental muscles necessary to judge the soundness of beliefs for themselves. Those traditions that offer established moral guidelines also tend to encourage their members to explore ethical ideas so that members can find their own ethical sense and form their consciences accordingly. With this freedom comes a corresponding responsibility; a responsibility for one’s beliefs, behaviour, and degree of spiritual development. An observer was said “Some religions are a restaurant. You sit down and they bring you what they’re serving up for dinner. Paganism is a buffet. If you want to eat, you have to get up off your butt and serve yourself.” On the whole, this approach to the issue of personal responsibility is very empowering for the individual. It is also empowering for the greater good of the society as a number of mature and self directed individuals within increases.

The Spiritual Sentient Society of Pagan Freeman offers a different world-view, as in it deliberately incorporates new perspectives from science, metaphysics, and mysticism into its spirituality and consciously breaks from the traditional Newtonian view of the world.

We believe that this living universe is able to communicate to all parts of itself on one or more levels, and that these parts can choose to cooperate together for specific ends.

The Spiritual Sentient Society of Pagan Freeman is a way of living, praying, and connecting to the flow of the universe. Our society addresses the existence and nature of Deity, the relationship of ourselves and the universe with the Divine, the nature and scope of human existence, what happens to us after death, the nature of the physical and non-physical universe, and our relationship to that universe. Spiritual practises are quite varied and include everything from formal ritual to meditation, quiet walks, singing, dancing, healing, divination, in fact, any everyday activity can be incorporated into his or her spirituality.
